Dutch design & engineering

Our approach in 8 steps

Step 1: 3D designs (function & design)

Functionality, design and technology in harmony. At this stage our structural engineers often help the architect translate a design into a feasible specification. Airflow measurements provide insight into pressure loss and air velocity, related to noise level and sound vibrations. Finally we visualize the 3D design. This provides spatial insight into the structure.

stap 1

Step 2: measuring

We measure the large and curved cut-outs in the superyacht with 3D measuring equipment. We convert this measurement data into usable lines, after which the engineering department prepares the drawings.

stap 2

Step 3: engineering

We prepare 3D production drawings using 3D measuring equipment, templates or supplied customer data. Our engineers use the Creo Engineering tool. It is compatible with file types such as IGES, STEP, DWG and DXF. The direct link between the 3D CAD system and the production machines minimizes the risk of production errors.

stap 3

Step 4: production

We manufacture every product with care and precision. We work closely with specialist partners and choose high-quality materials such as aluminium, stainless steel, composite and plastic. We manufacture each part with advanced techniques and under strict supervision, according to our specifications and quality standards. This is how we guarantee excellent workmanship and reliable quality.

stap 4

Step 5: chemical treatment

Good surface treatment both ensures excellent adhesion of the first layer of paint to the material and prevents corrosion. This treatment starts with a durable and environmentally friendly cleaning and pre-treatment procedure in various immersion baths. An automated process ensures that every product receives the same thorough pre-treatment.

stap 5

Step 6: apply coating

After pre-treatment, we apply several layers of marine coatings. The first coats of paint are applied with powder coating. This ensures a hard protective coating and improved anti-corrosion properties. The final layers consist of the famous yacht paints prescribed by shipyards and specialists.

stap 6

Step 7: assembly

Complete projects are pre-assembled and packaged with the appropriate fixings. This ensures quick and trouble-free installation on site.

stap 7

Step 8: installation on board

Installation of the ventilation louver and the options on board a superyacht requires experience and skill. After all, every project is unique. We do this carefully and with a high level of finish. Alternatively local fitters can do this themselves, under our supervision. This particularly applies to refit projects abroad and where the level of precision allows it.
